1979 Continental Mark V Collector’s Series

Lincoln carried the famed 75th Anniversary 1978 Continental Mark V Diamond Jubilee Edition over to 1979 and dubbed it Collector’s Series to commemorate the final year of the traditional luxury car.   In the Spring of 1979, fuel prices were rising and the era of the traditional full sized luxury car was quickly coming to an end.

The Collector’s Series was selling briskly in both Continental and Mark V models in comparison to other models that were being heavily affected by the unprecedented rising fuel prices.  Midnight Blue and White Collector’s Series were initially offered but in the Spring of 1979, Lincoln added a Diamond Blue with Midnight Trim, as shown, and a Metallic Silver with Midnight Blue Trim.  Both cars sold in limited numbers making them highly collectible and rare to find.

This gorgeous Diamond Blue Metallic Paint Code 38 Collector’s Series Mark V has only 11,000 miles on the odometer.  The elegant Midnight Blue Valino Grain Landau Vinyl Roof with Coach Lamps and Midnight Blue Custom Paint Stripes and Body Side Molding were the perfect selections for this ultimate Lincoln automobile.
