1977 Lincoln Mercury Full Line Press Kit
This sharp kit was handed out to the general press to announce the arrival of the 1977 Lincoln Mercury car line. Slick black and white glossy 8.5 by 11 inch photos each car were included along with an array of newspaper ready printed word releases. The entire kit was housed in a striking bright red folder. Note the artwork errors on the front of the folder cover on the Mark V and Thunderbird.

This sharp Press Kit details the very last 1979Continental Mark V Collectors Series to come off the line at the Wixom Michigan Lincoln Assembly Plant on June 8, 1979. Omar Throndsen and his son Larry of Seattle, WA received the last set of keys to a stunning Midnight Blue Paint Code 3Q Collector’s Series Mark V. Note the press photo does not show a Collector’s Series for some reason. A full photo of the actual car being delivered will be added at a later date.

1979 Continentals Lined Up For Sale Detroit, Michigan
This unique Press Photo from the Detroit News is dated June 22, 1979. It depicts the over 200 Continental Mark V and Continental models still available for sale at Bart Lincoln Mercury in Detroit after the close of the Model year on June 8, 1979. A few of the new downsized Mercury Marquis models can be seen at the end of the first row. The Iranian Hostage Crisis had brought sales of America’s last big luxury car literally to a halt. Continental Mark Vs were still available new on some dealer lots as late as 1981. Sales of the 1979 Lincoln models had been very strong until the crisis outbreak. 1979 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL COLLECTOR’S SERIES PRESS KIT
This sharp and well-constructed News Media Information Kit was distributed to major news outlets to announce the arrival of the very special 1979 Collector’s Series models, including Continental and Continental Mark V. This kit was sent in a special printed envelope and inside was a multi part dark blue thick cardstock with a gold foil closure. The Collector’s Series lettering was embossed gold lame. Inside the folder were several black-and-white photos of the Collector’s models and company-written historical information.
